Reng Reng.... Student Council is calling you
[Everyone has a hero in their heart, how about you???]
When being asked about the definition of a hero, what is the first image that comes to your mind? We usually think of people that are ‘brave’, ‘resilient’, ‘courageous’, ‘enthusiastic’ and ‘majestic’ like in the movies… We keep imagining and looking for an 'ideal hero', but we coincidentally forget that there are many ‘ordinary heroes’ in real life. SC believes that you don't have to go so far to find those heroes because they are always close by to each of us.
Who is that???? Hmm… Have you ever met that hero in real life yet?
I am a member of Student Council taking responsibility in brainstorming big idea, writing content and being the MC of the online RMIT Teacher's Awards 2021.
During the past years, RMIT University has already established a “Teaching Award” to congratulate teachers that earn tremendous achievements, build up proficient technical skills and has significant contribution to enrich the teaching environment. This award is nominated and voted between the lecturers (colleagues), and a ceremony is hosted internally at the end of the year. The implementation of the award has successfully reach out to many teachers and combine with the 20th anniversary celebration in 2020, the “Teaching Award” has been recognized as a valuable recognition to teaching manners.
To further raise the awareness and establish a better connection between the students and the lecturers, Teacher’s Award Project has been introduced, which is inspired by Ms. Julia Gaimster – Dean of School, School of Communication & Design and School of Science & Technology, approved by Committee Board of RMIT Vietnam Education Committee. Teacher’s Award is distinctively different with “Teaching Award”, which means it does not require any technical aspect of a teacher such as academic achievements, professional teaching manner, educational experience, qualifications, etc. The valuable message behind this award is to help student express their appreciation towards the dedication, guidance, and enthusiasm from the teachers, who willing to contribute themselves and consistently support students to develop and achieve many outcomes in their learning time at university.
